Tribute
It is with heavy hearts that we announce that on October 18, 2013 Robert passed away surrounded by the love of his family. He is predeceased by Agnes, his loving wife of 63 years and is survived by his six children: Mike (Aileen), Norm, Bob, Debbie (Stuart), Donna (Terry) and Diane (Ian); five grandchildren: Cody, Tavish (Christine), Landon (Deanna), Rachel and Alyson; and six great grandchildren: Tennyson, Sienna, Grayson, Connor, Janica and Shaye. Robert lived in interesting times and fought both for his country in WWII and against his country's racist policies by fighting for his country in WWII. You can view his story in the award winning NFB movie, “Unwanted Soldiers” (1999). In life, Robert, Bob, Dad, Ya Ya, Grandpa, Great Grandpa had a big, generous heart and loved his family more than anything. He will live forever in our hearts as a hero. A celebration of his life will be held on Saturday November 2, 2013 at The Sunrise Banquet Centre in the Sunrise Room at: 5640 188th Street, Surrey from 1:00 – 4:00 pm. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Alzheimer Society of B.C.
