Leo Dueckman

April 18, 1934 - June 3, 2011

Tribute

Leo has gone to his Savior in Heaven, Jesus Christ. While we are sad to lose his quick wit and loving kindness, we are glad he has gone from the pain and suffering he underwent to paradise. He is reunited with many that went before him: parents, 2 nephews, and all but one brother. Leo had a great career with B.C. Hydro for 35 years. He went from a meter reader to the office manager in North Vancouver. He and his wife Betty were married for almost 57 years and were active members of 10th Ave Alliance Church in Vancouver. They retired to Chilliwack in 1990 and enjoyed a 21 year vacation. Leo is survived by Betty, two sons, Dale (Vic), Brent (Connie); 4 grandchildren, Karyn (Ben), Heather (Evan), Barry and Holly (Tyler); 2 great-grandchildren, Lilli and Zarah; Brother and sister-in-law, Ernie and Irene Taylor; Niece, Carmi (Grant) Wilson; Sisters, Mary, Agnes, Dora (Ed), Anna (Hans); Brother, Peter (Irene); Sisters-in-law, Luella and Louise; and many nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his brothers, John (Luella), Jake (Mary) and Dave (Louise); and Nephews Brad and Jamie. A service to celebrate Leo’s life will be held Saturday, June 18 at 1:00 p.m. at Chilliwack Alliance Church, 8700 Young Road, Chilliwack. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Chilliwack Alliance Church Missions Fund. Online condolences to the family may be made to www.wiebeandjeskefh.com

Wiebe and Jeske Funeral Home Staff send our condolences to family and friends. Our thoughts and prayers are with you all.

From: Norma & Randy Hart
Relation: Friends of Brent & Connie

It is with sadness that we learned of Leo’s passing – yet one of joy that he is now at home with his Saviour.

Brent, we are sorry for your loss because we know how close you were to your father and what an influence he had on your life. The loss of a father is not easy to deal with and we share your grief.

It was our privilege to get to know your parents during the many times they came up to Mackenzie to visit you. It was wonderful to meet them again last September at your 25th wedding anniversary celebration in North Vancouver.

Brent, we hold you, Connie, Barry, Holly, Betty, Dale and your entire extended family in our prayers.

Psalm 73:26 “My flesh and my heart faileth: but God is the strength of my heart, and my portion for ever.”

Our condolences,
Randy & Norma
