Tribute

John passed away tragically Sunday afternoon at one of his favourite places, Sumas Mountain.
John made friends wherever he went. An active member of Greendale MB Church for 30 years, John was well-known and well-loved in his community. After a long career in the dairy industry, in retirement John enjoyed serving alongside his son Jesse with the 5 and 2 Ministries in Abbotsford.
Loving husband to Valerie for over 40 years. Father of James (Julia) Wegenast, Jesse (Sharalin) Wegenast and Vanessa (Stuart) Dueck. His 10 grandchildren brought him great joy.
He will be forever missed and always remembered.
Funeral service will be held Saturday,  October 1, 2022 at 2 p.m.  at Central Heights Church, Abbotsford.
In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to the 5 and 2 Ministries (The5and2.ca)

We were so sad to hear about the untimely passing of John. Our hearts are saddened for the family and we send you our condolences. He will surely be missed but well-remembered and well loved.

From: MARGARET BUTCHER (WILLIAMS)
Relation: Old neighbour

We knew John as a very young lad when he lived beside us with his parents on Lewis Avenue many years ago. My sister and I had an accidental meeting with him at Costco a few years ago and it was wonderful to see him and chat after so many years. Such a lovely soul. God Bless and condolences to his family.

From: Katrina Rempel
Relation: Acquaintance

So sorry to hear about John’s passing! He was such a wonderful, friendly guy and he’ll be missed. My condolences to his wife and family.

From: Barbara Chambers
Relation: Work friend

I worked with John in the Dairy industry. His passing broke my heart as I know his family is also much more broken. His kindness, non judgmental, happy demeanor, always! I will forever remember him for his great abundance of life and love. He truly left his mark on those he knew❤️
