John Neufeld

May 3, 1936 - June 20, 2024

Tribute

John was born in Liebenau, in the Molotschna Colony, of the Ukraine, to Johann and Anna Neufeld (Gottselig).  In 1948, he immigrated to Canada with his mother and two brothers, Henry and George, and settled in Mission, BC in 1952.

In 1958 John married Margaret Friesen of Mission and moved to Vancouver where they welcomed their three children, son Robert, and  daughters, Heather and Joleen.

He loved camping, fishing and spending time with his grandchildren and later his great-grandchildren.  His family of 5 grew to a blessed family of 49.  John loved the Lord and shared his faith and love for God whenever the opportunity arose.

John Neufeld,  age 88, of Langley, BC, passed away with his Savior by his side on June 20, 2024.  He is predeceased by his parents and great-grandson Noah Neufeld.

He is survived by his beloved spouse, Margaret of 65 years, children Rob and Karen, Heather and Hermann, Joleen and Klaus; his 10 grandchildren, their spouses, and 22 great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to Gleaners (Fraser Valley) or Seeds of Hope.

My memories are always of Uncle John’s big and cheerful smiles. In the 1958 photo attached, he is smiling at me when I was a baby.

From: Jared Neufeld
Relation: Grandson

I will always remember all the games I used to play with grandpa, especially chess. Whether we were at home or one of the lake properties, I marvelled how he could count cribbage hands so fast. I will miss his laugh and smile the most.
Thank you for all your love,
Jared

John, So many heartwarming and fun visits with you and Margaret over the years .. giving help or advice or sending up prayers . You loved people and lived a life showing God’s love for them and loved your family so well! You always along with Margaret had stories to tell of your grandkids or great gkids and asked for prayer for them when needed. You were a blessing at church and around Brookhollow which was so appreciated. Your laughter and smiles, encouraging words and advice will be missed but the fond memories will never fade. Now you are being blessed beyond what we can imagine! 🌺
