Tribute

Henry John Rempel, age 95, passed away on Tuesday, February 13, 2024 at Chilliwack General
Hospital in Chilliwack, BC.
He was born on December 15, 1928 in Slavgrad, Siberia (Russia) to Henry and Susanna (Loewen), the
first of eight (8) children.
Henry travelled to Canada with his family on the last boat out of Russia when he was nine (9) months
old, moving to Osborne, Manitoba.
In 1946, Henry and his family moved from Osborne, Manitoba to a farm in Chilliwack, BC.
On June 22, 1952, Henry married Katie the girl next door. They were married for 66 years until Katie’s
passing on December 12, 2018.
Henry is survived by his daughters Beverly Sagert (Larry Binning), Marjorie Friesen (Martin Laliberte),
sons Raymond (Margret) and Robert (Kyla Omilusik), daughter-in-law, Kathy, grandchildren, Nathan,
Landon, Kalvin, Derek, Kelsey, Tessa, Holly, Florence, Marika, Mia, Devon and Keaton and great-
grandchildren, Henry, Cohen, Everett, Elliott and Ryann.
He is also survived by his sister Helen (Joe) Ottom, brothers John (Elise), Bill (Kay) and Jack (Joanne) as
well as many nieces and nephews.
Henry was pre-deceased by his parents, John and Susanna, his son, Stanley and brothers George,
Cornelius and Peter.
Henry’s moto for life was to work hard, support your family and follow the teachings from the Bible.
Dad will be greatly missed by his children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, siblings and all his
many friends.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to M2/W2 Association or Bibles for Missions.
