Tribute
It is with sadness the family of Graham Wainwright announces his passing on December 20, 2012 in Abbotsford Regional Hospital. He first moved to Abbotsford in October 1980 with his family. For his whole life he was focused on supporting others in the community. Professionally he worked for the Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce for 36 years. As a volunteer he supported many organizations including the Clearbrook Lions Club, Gladwin Heights United Church, Cultus Lake United Church Camp and the Abbotsford International Airport. Graham was predeceased by his wife Frances Wainwright and sister Wendy King. He leaves behind his son Rob (Tammy), daughter Ruth (Greg), daughter Alison (Donald), granddaughter Frances, grandsons Frederick and Lucas, brother Jim (Laura), brother-in-law Dick, nieces, nephews and countless friends. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, December 27th, 2012 at 2:00 pm at Gladwin Heights United Church. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Gladwin Heights United Church (www.gladwinheightsunitedchurch.org) or Cultus Lake United Church Camp (www3.telus.net/clucc). The family would like to extend sincere thanks to the staff at the Abbotsford Regional Hospital for their compassionate care and support.

I wanted to pay respects on behalf of my family. I had the pleasure of seeing Graham every once in a while when I was visiting our old house on Grouse.I also moved back there after I was married and talked to him often. He could talk about everything imaginable and always knew what was happening in the neighbourhood. I remember when your family moved into the neighbourhood as a child. Your dad gave me rides to school with Ruth. It was a great neighbourhood to grow up in. Mr Wainwright was a kind and caring person.

I was surprised to see the notice of your Dad’s death in the local paper. We definitely would have attended his service but unfortunately it had passed before we knew of his passing. Essie and I would run in to him from time to time and had recently mentioned him and were wondering how he was doing. We knew him from church and the Lions club. Your Dad was a kind man, always cheerful and laughing. We have many fond memories of parties and functions with the Lions. His strong faith and the knowledge that he is now with Fran are comforting. Your Dad was always so proud of you kids. He beamed when telling me about his first granddaughter and that her name is Frances. May all the happy memories comfort you at this difficult time.
