It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Charles Reginald William Franzen at the age of 93. Born in Winnipeg on July 5, 1918, Reg passed away peacefully at Surrey Memorial Hospital on Sunday January 22, 2012 with his daughter, Joan, by his side. Reg was a World War II veteran, serving overseas in the Royal Canadian Air Force. He was predeceased by his wife, Val, and his son, Don. Reg will be lovingly remembered by his family including his brother, Ken (Lavina) as well as many nieces and nephews and their families. Reg was loved for his gentle spirit, kindness, loyalty and caring. A celebration of Reg’s life will be held at Surrey Alliance Church – Fireside Room, 13474 96 Avenue, Surrey, BC V3V 1Y9 at 1:00 PM on Saturday January 28, 2012. In lieu of flowers please send donations to the Heart & Stroke Foundation.
