Catherine Foulkes (Bolton)

Tribute
Sadly, we announce the passing of Catherine in Langley, BC on August 30, 2023, one month
short of her 99th birthday.
Born Dora Elvira Catherine Bolton on her uncle’s farm near Oxenden, Ontario on September 29,
1924, Catherine was the eldest child of Sidney and Alvina (Lembke) Bolton. She graduated from
Wiarton High School and eventually moved to BC in 1953.
All of her life, Catherine seemed compelled to help others, even those better off than herself.
She served making war materiel in WW II; volunteered with the Salvation Army and took great
pride in wearing the uniform of the St. John’s Ambulance. She was proud to display her ‘100th
Blood Donation’ certificate and 95th birthday scroll from the Prime Minister and, being a lifelong
Royalist, she was dearly looking forward to receiving her 100th birthday letter from the new
King. In her final years, she so appreciated her caring mobile home park neighbours Cliff, Roy,
Cory, and Yolanda, among many others.
Catherine is survived by and will be dearly missed by her eldest son Jim, her six grandchildren
Jamie (Wendy), John (Luana), Dan (Nicole), and Rebecca (Brandon) in BC, Elizabeth (Yuri) in
Maryland, and Susanna (Troy) in Australia, as well as her granddaughters’ mother Shirley, and
her beloved Church families in Chilliwack.
Catherine will also be missed by 13 great-grandchildren: Gregory, Cameron, Nathan, Marcus,
Sophia, Catarina, Benjamin, Charlotte, Samuel, Lucy, Maksim, Milena, and Elliot, and will be
remembered as Aunt Dora by Eric, Brian (Ferne), Jennifer (Chris), Earl (Debbie), and Ralph and
their families in Ontario.
Catherine is predeceased by her ex-husband Jim, son David, both her beloved brothers, Sid Jr
(Loreen), and Ralph (Phyllis), and all her many cousins. Having lived and impacted lives in so
many areas of Canada, Catherine will be missed by all her treasured extended-family and
surviving friends across the country.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 4:00 PM on Saturday, September 30th, 2023 at the Seventh-
Day Adventist Church, 46024 Riverside Drive, Chilliwack, BC.
