Ruth Marilyn Millard (Schubert)

October 18, 1943 - May 7, 2024

Tribute

Ruth Marilyn Millard (nee Schubert) was embraced by the arms of her saviour and faithful friend Jesus,
on Tuesday, May 7, 2024.
Ruth was born in Melville, Saskatchewan, and lived her very early years there before moving to BC. After
moving between Matsqui Prairie and Maple Ridge, her family settled in Mission, where she lived
for several years. She then took a job opportunity with World Vision in Ontario. It was in Ontario
that she met her husband, Ross. They had two children there before moving back to the Fraser Valley,
where they were blessed to add a third.
For years Ruth enjoyed volunteering with Advokate Life & Education Services and later for North
American Indigenous Mission. Perhaps the one thing she is most remembered for are her strong hugs,
which we look forward to when we meet again.
Ruth is lovingly remembered by Ross, her husband of 54 years, her sons Randy, Richard, and Jonathan,
her daughters-in-law Charis, Christina, and Jennie, her two brothers and two sisters, eleven grandchildren,
and two great-grandchildren. She is predeceased by her daughter-in-law Christie and her brother Dan.
Thank you to the staff at Holmberg House for their compassionate care during Ruth’s final days with us. A
memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 18, at 10:30 am, at Abbotsford Pentecostal Assembly
(North Auditorium), at 3145 Gladwin Road.
