Tribute
Ronald Joseph Zimmer, born on August 22, 1941, in Rouleau, SK, Canada, passed away peacefully on October 17, 2024, in Abbotsford, BC, Canada. He was the beloved husband of Phylis Eleanor Zimmer and a dedicated father to Monty, Todd, Holly, and Cameron, who cherished his wisdom and love.
Ronald was a committed pharmacist whose career was marked by compassion, service and ingenuity. He often went beyond his professional duties, offering guidance and support to those in need within his community. An ardent volunteer, Ronald served as the President of the Radville Kiwanis Club and the Radville Chamber of Commerce, as well as a board member of the Pangman Church. His strong Christian faith guided him in all aspects of his life and ensured that he took time to discuss and instill his faith with his children.
A man of many interests, Ronald had a passion for woodworking, creating meaningful and useful items for his family. He had an eclectic taste in vehicles, enjoying unique cars from convertibles to dune buggies and even a classic Volkswagen bus. Ronald loved nothing more than spending time with his family, often building unique adventures for his kids and grandkids, such as a giant zipline, basketball court, treehouse and horse corral. He also enjoyed good meals (always vying for what looked good on others’ plates), and cheering on his favorite football team, the Saskatchewan Roughriders.
Ronald leaves behind a legacy of kindness, wisdom, and community stewardship. He is predeceased by his loving wife Phylis and survived by their four children, Monty, Todd, Holly and Cameron. He is also predeceased by his older brother, Walter, and remembered by his younger brother, Gerry Zimmer. Ronald’s impact on the lives of others was profound; he was always willing to lend an ear, offer prayers, and provide support to those who sought his help.
To his last day, he was known as a kind thoughtful man, and leaves a legacy of love, kindness and wisdom.
