It is with deep sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our dad Robert Guppy aged 89 years old.  Robert passed away peacefully at the Abbotsford Hospital on June 16th 2023 @ 6:44 a.m. He was in hospital for 4 1/2 weeks due to multiple health issues.  He will be greatly missed by his children: Gayle (Brian) and Michael (Nancy) and grandchildren: Mariah, Zachary, Scott, Brian and Bryce and 3 great grandsons: Jackson, Josiah and Beck.  He was predeceased by his parents Jack and Hazel Guppy and his brother Jack.  He is survived by his sister Ethel in North Vancouver.

Robert joined the Canadian Air Force in 1952 at the age of 19 and was transferred to 10 different postings in his 25 year career with them.  He retired in 1977 from CFS Baldy Hughes in Prince George and moved the family to the Fraser Valley settling in Abbotsford.  Dad began working for the Abbotsford School District as a warehouseman and fully retired in 1998 at the age of 65.  He and mom did some travelling and cruising, joined in on some camping excursions (well they hoteled it) and spent time with their grandkids.

Dad played a lot of sports in his lifetime: lacrosse, basketball, boxing, curling, hockey, floor hockey and baseball. He also enjoyed going to the casino and testing his luck. Dad loved music!  There was always music on in the house when we were growing up.  His favorite was the Big Band sounds, jazz and especially Buddy Rich on the drums but he liked all types.

Dad was looking forward to celebrating his 90th birthday with family and friends but chose to see mom instead.

Dad you are greatly missed and deeply loved. Give mom a big hug for us!
