It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Michael Westen Cass on, Wednesday, November 30, 2022, in Vancouver, B.C, at the age of 47 years.
Michael was born in Edmonton, Alberta, on September 6, 1975. Michael was someone who was often misunderstood and had many obstacles in life. For those who had the opportunity to get to know him, you would have seen his innately loving and kind heart that came along with his sassiness. Michael was an avid sports lover, being partial to hockey and wrestling. He collected jerseys and figurines of his favorites. Michael would have enjoyed company over a Tim’s coffee and ice cream was another favorite.
Michael leaves behind his mom, Viola Cass (Loewen) sisters Jenelle Cass, Cindy Robotham and Kayla Cass, brothers Jeff Neetz, Chris Cass, Donnie Cass, nephew Jaden Goertzen, niece Jessica Cass, great niece Sophie Goertzen, uncles Hank Lindhout and Tom McMahon and aunties Dorothy Lindhout and Debbie McMahon, friends Kevin Bitz and Tony Haggerman and his large extended family.
Michael was predeceased by his dad, Westen Cass and brother Randy Neetz.
Our family would like to thank Canada Hotel, Pender Community Health Center, Wellness Pharmacy, Providence Care, and Dr. Andrew Gilmore for all the support they offered Michael over the years.
You will be deeply missed. May you rest in peace.

So sorry for your loss, Mike was like a brother to me, lots of great memories that will never be fogotten thats for sure!! I lived with him for almost 10 years and had a blast. Mike was a very unique person to say the least I’ll miss his smile and laughter the most, he was an incredible friend and is dearly missed, and gone way to soon. At least he’s no longer in pain. May you rest in peace buddy. You will be truly missed my friend, until we meet again brother. Love you

My baby brother, I am so going to miss your giggle, our cheeky interactions and our fighting. You know there was never any love loss just incredible care and regard. Your big mouth and my big presence. Hahaha! I am going to miss your calls, in fact I already do. Nov 10 was the last time I heard your voice. I am going to miss hearing about your day and talking your ear off because at times you were just so quiet. I wanted to bring you home with me but knew your life was where you were. You were just so spicy and sassy and I loved that about you. I hope you knew you were loved. I hope you knew you mattered. I absolutely adored you and learned many things from you. One really big thing is how to accept people where they are at in their lives, not where we want them to be. For the rest of my days I will carry you in my heart and in my memories. My baby brother,Rest Well. ❤️
