Leonard Remple
May 2, 1931 - August 3, 2022
Tribute
Leonard passed away peacefully into the presence of his Lord Jesus Christ on August 3, 2022. He will be greatly missed by his beloved wife Judy; their three children, daughters Shirley Hill Meyers (Steve), Jill Enns (John), and son Daniel; 5 grandchildren Lucas Enns (Sophie), David Hill, Joseph Enns (Michelle), Aoife Enns and Bethany Enns Dickie (Clayton); and four great grandchildren Jaiden Dickie, Lincoln Dickie, Felicity Dickie and Eli Dickie. Len was very proud of every one of them. He also leaves his brother Lloyd (Pat) of Winnipeg and other relatives and friends.
He loved his children and grandchildren passionately and that love flowed over to the children who would line up after church to get candy from the CANDY MAN and often hugs.
He was predeceased by his parents John and Sara Remple, brothers, Ed, Tony, George, Maurice, Valere Remple and son-in-law, Jonathan Hill.
Leonard was born in Gretna, Manitoba and was raised on a farm. In 1948, he moved to Winnipeg with his family when he was 16, and met Judy, the love of his life, in High school when he was 17 and she 15. On June 7, 2022, they celebrated their 70th anniversary.
As a young man he became an accountant and later ran a solid waste business in Winnipeg. In 1973, he moved his family to B.C and started Haul a Way Disposal Ltd. He later sold his business to Laidlaw and became the Regional Vice President for the western division, BC, Washington, Oregon and California.
As a career businessman Len had to retire from his business in 1986 after two heart attacks and by-pass surgery. He continued to be involved in business, offering his services as a consultant (for free if the client was under-funded). He took a strong interest in business and politics.
As a follower of Jesus Christ he was for many years involved as Chaplain of the Fraser Valley Executive Association. As Director of the Christian Coalition (BC) of Canada he fought passionately to preserve and protect traditional Judeo-Christian values. This entailed continued lobbying at all levels of government , to challenge legislation that is un-Biblical.
Len’s biggest desire was to introduce everyone he met, to Jesus Christ. He believed once a person was introduced to Jesus Christ, he/she would become a follower of Jesus Christ.
Together with his wife Judy, they traveled to many countries. Len really enjoyed travelling. This included trips with Power to Change and World Serve, to share God’s love overseas.
From the time of Len’s first heart attack in 1985 until his passing, doctors said he was truly a walking miracle due to having survived numerous life-threatening cardiovascular problems.
After writing stories of his life throughout the years, Len finally accomplished publishing his book “These 90 Years” on December 22nd, 2021.

Judy and family. This is Connie from Winnipeg . Herman’s youngest daughter. Our sincere condolences to all of you on Leonard’s passing. It’s been so many years since I’ve seen any of you. My last memory is probably 55 years ago at a reunion in Gretna. Obviously before you moved to BC. Please know my thoughts and prayers are with you. God bless you and yours, always
