John Jongsma

Tribute
John Jongsma passed away peacefully in his sleep into the loving arms of his Savior and Lord in the early morning hours of July 27, 2012 at the age of 84, at Abbotsford Regional Hospital, after a brief illness. Born in Wijneterp, Friesland, he immigated to Canada in 1948 and in 1958 settled into life as a dairy farmer in Matsqui Prairie, retired in 1987 and lived in Abbotsford until his passing. He is survived by his loving wife Alice of 57 years ; children Wilma (Cor) Versteeg (Jolene, Janice (Jon) Meyer–Brooklynn and Mackenzie–Jared); Florence (Gary) VanderKooi (Richard (Ashley)—Alyssa and Chloe; Brenda (Alton) Valler—Liam; Mike; Andrew (Laura)—Ty; Eric);
and Harvey (Sharon); 2 brothers and 6 sisters in The Netherlands and many extended family members; predeceased by his parents and 1 sister in The Netherlands. He will be sorely missed by his family and friends.
A memorial service will be held on Thursday, August 2, 2012 at 1:00 p.m. at Trinity Christian Reformed Church, 3215 Trethewey Street, Abbotsford, B. C. Pastor Joel DeMoor officiating. No flowers by request.
