James Todd Conkey, 79, of White Rock, British Columbia, passed away on December 7, 2023.
He was born on May 27, 1944, in Victoria, British Columbia.
Todd was an incredibly loving and caring individual who cherished his family and always made
sure they were well taken care of. Todd grew up on a ranch in Bridge Lake, where he developed
a strong connection to nature and the outdoors with their many dogs and horses.
Professionally, Todd had a successful career in the boating industry, retiring as an Instructor of
Marine Mechanics at BCIT where he shared his wealth of knowledge and expertise with aspiring
students.
Todd leaves behind his beloved wife Rita, daughter Bea (Jeff), son Trevor (Chelsea), and
grandchildren Hannah, Talia, Oliver, and Bennett. He was predeceased by his parents, John and
Iva Conkey.
In his free time, Todd enjoyed indulging in his hobbies, which included boats, cars, photography,
and computers. These passions brought him joy and allowed him to express his creativity and
technical skills.
A memorial service to celebrate Todd’s life will be held at the White Rock Baptist Church on
January 13, 2024, at 10:00 am. Following the service, a light reception will be held to honor his
memory.
James Todd Conkey will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him. His
gentleness, kindness and love for his family will always be remembered.

What a shock dear Rita. We have wonderful memories of times spent together with you & Todd. We especially loved movie nights with popcorn & pop & sharing our feedback afterwards. Praying for peace & comfort. Sadly I will be out of town for his Celebration of Life service.
