Tribute
Gertrude Penner age 91 years, passed away in peace on Sunday May 5th, 2013. She is survived and will be dearly missed by her family: (Karen) Penner, Steve (Colleen) Penner, Rita (Vern) Pankratz, Myra (Albert) Dykstra, Dan (Laurel) Penner, Simon deBoer and Alison Draney (Rob Hambly): 18 grandchildren: Kimberly (Duane) Vader, Heidi Penner, Bradley Penner (Ashley), Shelly Penner, Corinne (Roger) Stewart, Jonathan Penner, Andrea (Dave) Porter, Anthony (Bonnie) Pankratz, Justin (Alison) Pankratz, Christopher (Danielle) Pankratz, Julie (Brent) Wasson, Amy (Rick) Kohut, Nicholas (Rachelle) Dykstra, Liam Penner, Shaymus Penner, Timothy deBoer, Colby Draney and Colin Draney; 19 great grandchildren: Ward, Levi, Kaiden, Raeann, Connor, Eric, Madelyn, Alyvia, Graycen, Rohnyn, Claire, Rachel, Evan, Sophia, Chase, Danielle, Trevor, Hunter and Griffin.
Gertrude is survived by her sisters: Marie, Sarah, Ordina, and brothers Aaron and David.
The family wishes to thank the staff at the Menno Home Hospital for their compassionate care.
A celebration of her life will be held Friday, May 10 at 2:30 p.m. at Immanuel Fellowship Baptist Church, 2950 Blue Jay Street, Abbotsford with a reception to follow.

i am so sorry. I sent you a message several days ago and discovered it was sent to the wrong person. I want you to know that you are all on my thoughts. I have so many great memories of coming to your home, or you ours,and having such great times. Your Mom held a special place in my heart, as did each of you, my cousins. For Aunt Gertie, she is where she has longed to go, and she is suffering no more. For you, I understand the loss,and for that send my compassion and love. I really miss the lost connection we cousins had with each other. I really miss those times, and it would be so great were we all to gather in one place again as we did in those family reunions. Much love to each of you
