Tribute
George Henry Epp passed away peacefully in Chilliwack, BC on December 2, 2022 at age 93. George spent his early life in Yarrow, BC, graduated from Chilliwack Senior Secondary School, and attended UBC to launch his teaching career. He taught in elementary and secondary schools in BC, retiring at Rosedale Middle School. He was a cyclist and running enthusiast, coordinated the local school garden program, and initiated Chilliwack’s Adopt-a-Road program. He also volunteered in church and community charitable organizations such as MCC, M2W2, IVCF, and DoorWay. George is survived by his wife Adelaide, son Mark (Jennifer), daughter Annette Vogt (Brian), grandsons Anson Vogt, Brad Vogt, Landon Epp (Gillian), Levi Epp, and great granddaughter Rui Epp. The Celebration of George’s life will be on Jan.21,2023 ,@1:30 pm at Sardis Community Church.

I wish to convey my sincere condolences, having learned about George’s death only a few days ago. George left an indelible mark on me, as on many others. His sense of generosity was renowned. He was caring beyond the norm. It would seem to me his life might be deemed a model for believers to emulate.

George was one of the first to welcome me in 1985 at Sardis Community Church. He was a faithful and loyal member of the church who regularly challenged us to be more generous and to live with integrity. He led by example and was quick to humbly confess anytime he failed to achieve his own high standards. He made a huge positive contribution to his church and community. His legacy will live on in me and many who were honored to know him.
