Edward Willi Schmidt passed away Feb 4, 2017 at the age of 74, in Chilliwack, BC. After immigrating to Canada at an early age, he lived in the Parkdale area of Edmonton where he made many lifelong friends. Most of his career was spent at Imperial Oil in Edmonton. He married Marilyn March 23, 1996 and they enjoyed many happy years together traveling the world and spending time with family. They moved and spent the last 10 years in Chilliwack with family. He is lovingly remembered by his wife Marilyn, son Roland, stepchildren Michelle Newman (Todd), Jennifer Antonsen (Brad), and Alan Kausy (Kristin Magnusson) and eight grandchildren (Zachary & Nicholas Newman; Colby, Chase, Bethany & Avelyn Antonsen; Dahlia & Sofia Kausy).
a memorial service will be held Thursday, February 16 at 1:30 p.m. at Chilliwack Alliance Church.

My thoughts and prayers are with you Marilyn. I hope your children and grandchildren will comfort you at this sad time and in the days ahead. Although I never met Ed I know what a wonderful part of your life he was.. Even though we didn’t stay in close touch over the years you were often on my mind and in memories of our time together at the U of A. All those term papers, hours on the phone editing each other’s work, endless cups of bad coffee in the Ed. Building. i am truly sad at your loss and pray for your comfort and healing.
