Tribute
Irma Susan Neufeld (nee Penner)passed away peacefully at the age of 80 following a brief illness. She was surrounded by her loving family until the end. Irma was the beloved wife of Rudy Neufeld (deceased 2007).She was predeceased by her father
John in 1978, mother Agatha in 2001, brother Arthur in 1988,and brother George in 2003. Irma grew up in Rosemary, Alberta and after marrying Rudy started her family life on the farm in Seven Persons, Alberta. They moved to Abbotsford in 1982.
Irma will be deeply missed by her children and grandchildren:Stewart (and Cathy in Windsor,ON), Cameron (and Marianne and their children Adam (and wife Erin) and Jordan in Edmonton),Cynthia (and Karl and their children Luke & Aaron in Maple Ridge) and Garth (and Liz and their children Alec & Graeme in Abbotsford). She also leaves to mourn her passing, her sisters,Frieda in Kelowna, Alice in Edmonton,and Eva in Sechelt, BC. Irma was devoted to her family. She loved reading,swimming,gardening, playing bridge and scrabble, listening to classical music and jazz, and taking in a play. She also volunteered at the MCC in Abbotsford where she combined her love of books and her concern for others in need. Irma loved the beauty of nature and its power to inspire. She was the first to jump into a freezing cold lake and shout that we should join her. She also taught us that a proper picnic must include hot strong coffee served in the best china cups one has!Irma Neufeld lived her life graciously and died peacefully. We commit her spirit to the Lord.
Irma’s funeral will be held on Monday, March 19, 2012, 11:00am at Emmanuel Mennonite
Church, 3471 Clearbrook Rd, Abbotsford. Please join the family for lunch at the Church following the service. In lieu of flowers,donations are most welcome to the MCC this time.

Time can seem so long in our moments but so short in our lives. Knowing that we are all in God’s hands from before we start this journey until we get to go home, hopefully provides comfort; a ‘see you later’ rather than ‘goodbye’.
